Wonder is a novel by R.J. Palacio, which focuses on August Pullman, who was born with a facial deformity, and is told from his perspective, along with the perspectives of other relevant characters in the story. It was published on February 14, 2012.


August Pullman was born with a facial deformity that prevented him from going to a mainstream school, until now. This upcoming year, August will be starting fifth grade at Beecher Prep. As he adjusts to his new school, August must find ways to show his classmates that despite appearances, he's just like them.  

Film Adaptation

In 2014, it was announced that R.J. Palacio's bestselling novel would be adapted into a film to be directed by Paul King. However, King dropped out due to his work on Paddington 2 and was replaced by Stephen Chbosky.
